Impregnated Moon

Strolling down dark alleyways
Cool, breezy, full moon night
Hear death whispers of autumn leaves
Even in somber they carry me
Through ancient days
of pre-modern wonders

Fly past many broken hearts
Akin to modern life
Yet the full moon shined as bright
See virgin desires uprooted
Rainbow fields are ever
Savagely impregnated

Such is human life, dear friend
Whispers a passing angel
Even as the entire world
Rains arrows of taunts and sorrow
Smile and keep … A calm façade
fed by dreams of bright futures

Step out and watch the full moon
Lose yourself in her youthful smile
Despite forever frozen dreams
She lives with the eternal smile
Sayin’ … ain’t nothin’..
You can’t ever let go!

So smile, my friend.. and live
Dreams of tomorrow rejuvenate life
More colorful than any fresh wound
Life’s lessons embedded..
in small everyday wonders
When your dreams dry, dear

the angel again whispered, you die!

--Srini

ps. For some reason when I saw the moon tonight it seemed impregnated (by futile dreams) over millions of years of abuse, yet it holds a fresh smile! Ah! I love the full moon! See a picture here - http://www.starrynightphotos.com/moon/images/full_moon.jpg

Lost, yet feeling free

No bonds bind me, no looks blind me
I think.. I see.. You and me honey
Memories, so colorfully rich and vivid..
In dreams of yonder, I live
Within its fortress I become,
... uniquely me!

Eurydice apparition

Naiad-like bound, by your charms
Trojan-like blind, to my visceral alarms
Devoured, by un-repeatable words
Maenads, in modern day shrouds
Silenced, by decrepit acts of hate
Ramshackled erudites, remain illiterate

ps. Written to highlight the 'closed' minds of supposedly well meaning and learned people who are apparitions in modern society.

A Broken Heart's Quandary

..

Scared! Yes scared am I
To unlock and let you in
To commit or to entertain
Scared, yes scared am I

Strange, yes strange do I feel
On such indecisions of mine
Hard to feelings explain
Strange, yes strange do I feel

Stranded, yes stranded in time
Frozen, unable to proceed
Cruel fate refuses to accede
Stranded, yes stranded in time

Lost, yes lost for answers am I
Should I to dreams succumb?
Or to undeniable charms relent?
Lost, yes lost for answers am I

Scared! Yes scared am I
To listen to my bleeding heart
Yesterday’s scars still do hurt
Scared, yes scared am I!

ps. Write to express the 'once bitten twice shy' troubles that people have which sometimes causes quite some troubles for an individual in current and future relationships.

Love Signs

This is an experimental write to learn about the constellations and thread it with mythology of the zodiac.

Love Signs: Cancer - Aquarius

Star gazing into the wide night skies
I silently wonder
This dichotomy of my heart’s plight
Racing like never before
Leaves me asunder!

My tenacious pincers are but a safeguard
They won’t scar
Very seldom do I get to venture this far
Watched by Gemini’s twin guards
And the jungle king!

Well-recognized constellation in my virtual skies
Lord of the e-celestial seas
Cup-bearer of the gods, resurrector of parched lives
Rebel who symbolized the 1960’s hippy culture
My brilliant sapphire!

Hey! perpetrator of biblical floods, bring again to earth
Your divine powers to transform
Save me from this greed-stricken planet!
As you did for mythical Zeus
Honey, why don't you my love’s nectar deliver?

Love Signs: Cancer - Capricorn
Star gazing into the wide night skies
I silently wonder
This dichotomy of my heart’s plight
Racing like never before
Leaves me asunder!

My tenacious pincers are but a safeguard
They won’t scar
Very seldom do I get to venture this far
Watched by Gemini’s twin guards
And the jungle king!

Second faintest constellation, mythical goatfish
Lord of my winter solstice
Decorating my southern skies a lost partner
Celestial portals they believe we are to humans
A transit between Heaven and Earth

So very unassuming are you, no flashes bright
Yet your brilliance does shine
Reminisce your sending the titans into the nile
Even if we have now moved on in life
Our first and only kiss, I vividly remember

Love Signs: Cancer - Scorpio
Star gazing into the wide night skies
I silently wonder
This dichotomy of my heart’s plight
Racing like never before
Leaves me asunder!

My tenacious pincers are but a safeguard
They won’t scar
Very seldom do I get to venture this far
Watched by Gemini’s twin guards
And the jungle king!

Constellation of stars with contrasting colors
My reddish reflection star
Charming signpost to my galaxy’s center
You have always helped me
Inner feelings decipher

With wisdom you’ve Orion’s conflict avoided
Gave up your claws for Libra’s charms
Experienced, yet seldom any drama or baggage
Our sync’ed rhymes reverberates across time
The fun and frolic, still remains unequalled!

Love Signs: Cancer-Tauras
Star gazing into the wide night skies
I silently wonder
This dichotomy of my heart’s plight
Racing like never before
Leaves me asunder!

My tenacious pincers are but a safeguard
They won’t scar
Very seldom do I get to venture this far
Watched by Gemini’s twin guards
And the jungle king!

Largest constellation of my winter skies
My well-wisher star
Abductor of princess Europa, hunted by Orion
My doors remain open if you need to rest
Dont you this forget

Nothing else compares to your bright
and piercing eyes
Sparkles fly when we disagree, you and I
Irregular giants your demeanors sway
So as friends let's be forever

Love Signs: Cancer - Aries
Star gazing into the wide night skies
I silently wonder
This dichotomy of my heart’s plight
Racing like never before
Leaves me asunder!

My tenacious pincers are but a safeguard
They won’t scar
Very seldom do I get to venture this far
Watched by Gemini’s twin guards
And the jungle king!

Locked in awe of your golden fleece
My inconspicuous star
Sacrificed, yet gallant savior of Phrixus and Helle
Selfless acts never just rewards receive
In front of you, I stand humbled

The first stop on the highway of my night skies
I hear your neighborhood is less crowded
And as I towards you drifted, spring occurred
Away from the ever chaotic skies lets shelter
Letting our dreams unite and prosper!

Love signs: Cancer - Libra
Star gazing into the wide night skies
I silently wonder
This dichotomy of my heart’s plight
Racing like never before
Leaves me asunder!

My tenacious pincers are but a safeguard
They won’t scar
Very seldom do I get to venture this far
Watched by Gemini’s twin guards
And the jungle king!

Mesmerized by the constellation of scales
My neuf star
I stand trapped, fearing societal ridicule
As Virgo’s virgin mind entraps
Scorpio’s vicious claws scar!

Traveled so far blessed by celestial luck
Soft comfort beseech
In denial I live, refusing to let you hang
Your rainbow dreams of tomorrow
Upon my memory’s walls!

Love signs: Cancer - Sagittarius
Star gazing into the wide night skies
I silently wonder
This dichotomy of my heart’s plight
Racing like never before
Leaves me asunder!

My tenacious pincers are but a safeguard
They won’t scar
Very seldom do I get to venture this far
Watched by Gemini’s twin guards
And the jungle king!

Stunned by the constellation of the centaur
My incognito star
Blessed with the most planets to support life
Your charm is lodged deep inside forever
Still refreshing when life feels heavier

Though far away from your life I have drifted
Evergreen are your soft virtual touches
If only lady luck had blessed us a bit dear
We’d have ended up together
Life doesn’t always dreams deliver!

Fly Free, with me!

..

Hey Girl! Wake up and understand!
Like your normal human friends
.. I am not bland

Like birds flying high, or fish at deep sea
From places that scare others I gain
.. My greatest strengths

Like the Boab tree, Born to live free am I
What grounds this human world
.. Doesn’t ground me!

Like its rebellious roots, I've grown up free,
Unrestricted by earthen limits of life
.. Nothing confines me

Yet I fly the blue skies, with my rooted mind
Society’s unjust and archaic mushy wraps
.. Don’t entrap me

So, Hey Girl! Wake up and understand!
Stop judging me like your other friends, and
.. Join me, honey!

.. Together, let’s fly-free!

STEM issue: Check out and learn about the the Boab tree!

Messages of the heart

Can we ever define complex feelings in words? Can we?

As relationships grow on the Internet now-a-days, this write actually is a response to my wonder if words can ever actually express inner feelings with any more certainty than a soft touch, hidden smile or a momentary look! And as always, I am not sure I succeeded here either, in getting it just right.. so with no answers so far, my quest continues.. :)

..

From tiny atoms to galaxies very large
Attraction has proved to be a fatal scourge
Yet, such vast knowledge I gleefully ignore
Falter and fall for your intoxicating allure

I was always mesmerized by the full moon
Until I felt your beauty my senses swoon
With curves smooth and a smile divine
Your charm, a universe full of moons' outshines!

Never one to waste much time for heart’s messages
Yet in rapt awe am I, during our silly exchanges
Feel my inner chords reverb in perfect rhyme
As you softly stroll over in my virtual e-shrine

Words can never express such delicate wonders
They desert me as I stumble in speechless surrender
Wishing for the crescent smile, split-second looks
Or the soft touch that speaks, sans any poetry book!

As I sit here watching, I sigh and silently yearn
Wishing for a startrek-like teleportation machine
Taking us to mountains of refreshing velvet green
Where silent soft cuddles wrap our senses serene

Oh! why have me wrapped around your pinky?
Why can’t I break loose and as ever roam free?
Is my inner conundrums plain for all to see?
Painful pleasures inside, difficult to believe!

Seduction...

...

Blown by the river-like flows
... of your exquisite styles
To glimpse that heart-stopping style
... what would I not forsake?

Downed by the elixir toasts
... of your rainbow-hued silken smiles
To relish in that divine smile
... what would I not stake?

Sown forever desired seeds
... of your wondrous beauty’s fragrance
To float in such heavenly scents
... where would I not invade?

Envied, not for selfless deeds
... but in a race to be lost in your elegance
To immerse in such seductive grace,
... what treasures wouldn’t I trade?

So dear,

Float me high with whispery taunts
... let your warm breath be my solace
Choke me by those milky-white bosoms
... let softness ignite all my inner space

Tie me up with your seductive gaze
... let embers fly from those eyes
Strangle me with your soft embrace
... let total ecstasy precede my demise

Lost in your sheer beauty
... I see nothing else worth living for
Raging waves of passion
... Has transformed a lifeless pristine shore

Beauty has this proud heart conquered
... And a thoughtful mind has lost the war
As eternal love’s cycle of rebirth beckons
... Time too has paused to your seduction adore

Written to showcase how captive we are to fleeting pleasures so much so that we give up the rest of our lives in its perceived glory. This is to illustrate that the triumph of the heart always has to be balanced with the acumen of the mind. the 'pausing' of time is to indicate how the world at large stands to 'stare'.. not essentially adore!

The Mirage of Human Time...

.
Strolling down the train yard
Amazed by the parallel tracks
I see the floating mirage …
They join together at the horizon
Beyond which I can see no more

Questions pry my reflective mind
As it attempts to fathom
the distance to the beginning of time
and silently wonders’ …
Is there a real end?

I have always seen people talk
..about unending days and nights
and the sun, moon and the stars
Yes, they have stood they say
The test of ‘human time’ …

Cycles that nicely fit in short time
And some within a lifetime
We notice… and sometimes learn from
Yet cycles of many lifetimes
Eludes and escapes… our collective sights

Bigoted cycles man initiated
… fanned by the bubonic plague
Strasbourg - October 1349 - days of shame
Still haunts from beyond those centuries
Yet in 1939… bigotry and shame renewed!

Lessons unlearnt, across many generations
I wonder… if mirages are the only constant
As visceral fears of the unknown
Poisons and silently takes man down
Where even the best amongst us, is shamed!

Just as the tracks join at a distance
I sense time merging at both ends
Before my birth, and after my death!
Yet our mind’s eye can see much more
… if only we would stop, reflect, see …

.. and learn
.. from time’s interwoven mirages!

Result of my wondering if we as humans, ever 'see' things in a time frame that is beyond our own lifetimes. We talk about reaching for the skies, standing on the shoulders of ones before, but do we, really? I would say not.

May be that is what greats like Franklin, Lincoln, Gandhi, MLK and Teresa were made of, the difference in how they reached to see far beyond their own life and time into the future!

Yet collectively, we falter.. as humans, over and over again! Succumbing to the same poisons of fear, jealousy, hatred, vanity, etc. and perpetuating the same results..

Forgive, and live..

Rolling restlessly on my bed, constantly changing sides
Unforgetful minds’ weight, crushing with all its might
Repeated reflections of a mind frozen, shackled to time
Imprisoned, unable to escape the ravages of human grime

Boundless seething anger hidden, yet so clearly visible
A mind unwilling to pursue things tantalizingly possible
Left banished in a quagmire of morass, wounds fester
Even silence screams aloud, as my eyes parched for tears

Like soft, yet strong effervescence you one day strolled
Just as irritants on mantle folds help make rare pearls
Iridescent smile and the velvet smooth talk of comfort
Rescued from my memory’s quicksand that refused to forget

Thank you, Honey, for showing me these vibrant blooms
Thank you for the time to clear my canopies of doom
Anger diffused, heart so light, seeing vivacious sights
Beautiful lessons learnt, through unforgetful plights!

Be mine tonight..

Find her..

Your warm sensuous figure, re-energizes my fatigued soul
Distant angel soft whispers, sends delightful shivers up my spine
Piercing diamond-like eye, releases silky passions that envelop
Intoxicated just thinking of you, kicks up memorable storms within
Flooding my whole-being breathless, yet.. feel total pleasure, no pain
Oh! undeniable queen of my night skies, my ageless wonder
Walk down from your lofty perch and be mine, just for tonight!

Spoken Words..

Is evaluation season, hence in the past couple of weeks I have been in some introspective mood - wondering on the impact of words and what are some of the intrinsic reasons as to why people suffer / feel its impact!

Hence this write..

Infinite questions clogged my mind
My naive heart never did fear portend
Ifs, buts, and why nots? often screamed
As the river of life, colorfully streamed

I wondered what, if any, were my deft dues
To revel and enjoy its warm, endless hues
A simple rule, yet too often one gets entangled
A rule that leave the gregarious, dumb-founded

Like ice on snow-capped peaks, timelessly frosty
Packed deep are human emotions, frail n’ flimsy
Careless words, as unchecked melts attracts debris
Ravages over time choke, to sorrows unleash!

Nature's Chuckle

.. poem motivated by a surprise day off work yesterday (1/27/2009)

I stood gazing out of my window
Catching a glimpse of snow flurries
Nothing much to write home about
Yet the sight eased my stressful worries

A forced break from the daily grind
Mind forayed into the icy wonderlands
Cycle of nature so perfectly sync’ ed
Our follies upset the sun’s magical winks

Gazing into the horizon I stood humbled
Had we learnt anything from history?
Living our lives in circular paths so endless
Grandiosity leading to eternity of darkness

Felt a cool breeze blow a flurry to my face
And an inner voice cautioned of greed unabated
Ah! purely sublime joy… feeling it swiftly melt
Nature touched me and chuckled, softly reminding
… mankind’s short and fleeting memories!
